The Tuesday March 14, 2017  Kentland Rotary program was presented by Hunter Bohlmann the Director of the Trinity United Methodist Church Pre-School and After School programs. Hunter grew up and resides in Watseka IL and is a graduate of Illinois State University. Hunter received her degree in Family Consumer Science and is using what she learned to teach the students of the Kentland community.
Hunter told us she currently has 10 enrolled in the 9:00 to 11 :30 pre-school program
and has room to grow. It sounds like the students have a lot of fun activities they do from playing games, doing crafts and going to the Library once a month. Most of the activities are hands on, which often includes making a mess.  They are taught shapes, learning their numbers and colors. They work hard at teaching the students to memorize their address, phone number and date of birth.
The after school program is for students K-5th grade and starts around 3:15 when the
bus drops them off at the school and concludes at 5:15. The purpose is to provide a safe environment for the students, provide a snack and offer help with homework. It is often a time just to hang out with friends.
